I escaped the somewhat hectic day with a quick lunch at City Lobster with Ms. M. As with most Restaurant Week reservations, we made this one in advance. I’m a big fan of City Lobster because of all the incredible seafood.
I stated off with Baked Mid-Atlantic Oysters and Crabmeat Rockefeller.
Last time I was at City Lobster, a friend ordered this treat and I vowed to order it on my next visit. No regrets what so ever! The oyster is topped with spinach, crabmeat and a fabulous buttery sauce. I probably could order a whole batch of this and eat it as an entrée.
My entrée was less satisfying than my appetizer. The City’s Downeast Lobster Roll served with fries and coleslaw. It was pretty tasty but I think I was in the mood for hot food not cold.
The dessert was of course incredible. I ordered the Red, White and Blue Shortcake. Strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries on a homemade buttermilk biscuit with a side of vanilla bean ice cream. The berries were fresh but covered in a light syrup that really brought out the sweetness.
Ms. M ordered the Profiteroles Arabica. Coffee Ice Cream and a Chocolate-Espresso Sauce.
Woweee! The chocolate-espresso was really rich and complemented the coffee ice cream quite well. It was hard to leave but alas we had to head back to work.
The service at City Lobster was a little shoddy this time around, but the food still lived up to my expectations. Of course I recommend City Lobster. Restaurant week or no restaurant week, it’s a great place to eat!
